Dr. Ellen Fandry is a Therapeutic Optometrist and a certified Glaucoma Specialist. She graduated with her Doctorate of Optometry from The University of Houston College of Optometry as a member of the prestigious honor society Beta Sigma Kappa. Before opening Seabrook Eye Center, she practiced in North Houston for several years. She is a Clear Lake High School graduate and is excited about this opportunity to provide eye care to her hometown community!
Dr. Fandry is trained to perform both routine and medical eye examinations and can diagnose and treat conditions like dry eyes, contact lens-related complications, eye infections (commonly known as pink eye), glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, eye injuries, allergies, binocular vision disorders (misalignment of the eyes), and many others. She also works with nearby eye surgeons and assists them in caring for patients after cataract and LASIK surgeries.
Before graduating from optometry school, Dr. Fandry did a rotation at Cedar Springs Clinic in Dallas, Texas, where she was trained extensively in managing and treating ocular disease. In addition, she learned primary care optometry at a bustling private practice in Austin, Texas. At both locations, as well as in private practice, she gained experience with more difficult specialty contact lens fittings like scleral lenses (for patients with irregular corneas) and ortho-k (special hard lenses that reshape your cornea while you sleep, allowing you to see without correction during the day). She also does more routine fittings for patients with astigmatism and monovision and multifocal lens fittings for patients over 40 who are losing their near-focusing ability.
For undergraduate studies, she graduated with honors from Lindenwood University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. She played volleyball for Clear Lake High School and later at Lindenwood, where she was an All-American Student Athlete. In her spare time, Dr. Fandry remains active and likes to take long walks with her dog, Ash, and still enjoys playing sports like pickleball. She and her husband, Christopher, welcomed their first son, Nolan, in April of 2023. They enjoy walking to the parks in their neighborhood as a family, attending Nolan's swim lessons, and trying new restaurants and cuisines in their spare time.
Dr. Dan is a 2020 graduate from the University of Houston College of Optometry. She is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Dan completed her externships at the Community Eye Clinic in Fort Worth and the Eye Center in the Heights. Dr. Dan’s practice philosophy is to treat every patient who walks through the door like family.
Dr. Dan moved to Houston from Vietnam with her family in 2008. She graduated from the University of Houston with dual degrees in biology and psychology. Dr. Dan also met her now husband, Dr. Dan the dentist, during her undergraduate years at University of Houston.
After optometry school, Dr. Dan practiced in Port Arthur, TX for 3 years until she moved to League City. Dr. Dan has experience in all aspects of optometry from glasses and contact lens to diagnosing and treating all ocular diseases including the retina and cornea, and co-managing ocular surgeries.
The Dans proudly welcomed their son, Arlo in 2023. They also have 3 puppies, Mochi, Cubi and Dior.
Dr. Dan loves spending after hours and weekends with her close-knit family. She also enjoys walking and playing with her three fur babies in her free time.
Dr. Dan will be in the practice one day a week, usually on Wednesday.
